Low Trophic Life Webinar: “What about macroalgae? Comparison of Sugar Kelp growth in the Faroe islands”

AquaVitae training activities includes exchanges abroad for the students. Last summer Mayleen Schlund took part in one of them. She travelled to Faroe Islands where she made an internship in the research station Fiskaaling. The student exchange within the project framework allows the participants to expand their international networks and develop valuable transversal skills.

Mayleen Schlund is a master degree student in Environmental Sciences in Brunswick, Germany. During her bachelor, she participated in a student exchange with AquaVitae in the Faroe Islands (August 2021) where she visited and worked with the research institute Fiskaaling to implement data for her bachelor thesis. The exchange allowed her to gather experience in terms of fieldwork and laboratory work and to become acquainted with Sugar kelp (Saccharina latissima).
