In February 2020, the Alfred-Wegener-Institute (AWI) attended a booth at the Fish International to disseminate AquaVitae to fish wholesalers, processors, food retailers, the hospitality industry and media. Fish International is the only professional trade fair in Germany for the fish industry.
10,302 attendees travelled to Bremen, Northwest Germany, to taste the latest seafood products, attend lectures on the latest innovations in the sector and network with suppliers, processors and retailers of the German seafood sector. Björn Suckow, work package leader of New Aquaculture Products, says on the fair: “people were curious about the new species and most importantly stories behind. In that sense, the circular approach to aquaculture that the integration of the AquaVitae species will offer, is a selling argument and not to be underestimated. For the German market products such as shellfish will be of interest due to the traditional spirit of our consumers here”.
German media “FischMagazin” covered AquaVitae activity and its purpose to develop low trophic species. FischMagazin is the only trade magazine in German for the fish industry and it is intensively read by almost all industry specialists with 4.200 copies per issue.
